» Guild Rules

Jun 08, 2009 - 12:25 AM - by Caed
The purpose of this post is to bring together the rules and guidelines that are to be followed by all members of Headhunters. New members should be directed here to learn the basic structure and rules of the guild. Old members can quickly reference any nugget of information they require.

[Guild Structure]

Headhunters are an oligarchy. We are principally made from the following guild ranks:

Guildmaster – Public face of the guild.

Guild Bank - Characters associated with Headhunter's Guild Bank.

Council – Decision makers within the guild. Each different Council member is tasked with running a certain section of the guild i.e raid leading, DKP, recruitment, communication, strategy, melee/ranged/healer roles etc…

Raider – Part of the Headhunters raid force.

Members – Non-raiding member. Reserved for ex-raiders who have been in the guild for 6 months or more and their friends (with council approval)

Initiate – 4 Week (or less) trialist for raider rank within Headhunters.

NOTE
While the Guild has no formal democratic structure, the Guild Master and Council will take the wishes of the members and above into account whenever possible. However, Guildmaster and Council decisions are final. If you find yourself unable to accept a decision, we will suggest that you find another guild more suited to you.

[Behaviour of all guild members]

We are a multicultural guild, but require that all open communication take place in English.

It is expected that all members of the Guild treat each other with respect.
Bad language is tolerated, but if taken to excess or if members complain about it, the offender will be asked to moderate their language. Also bear in mind that our members come from different backgrounds and all ages races and sexes.

Cooperation is something we pride ourselves on. We wish this tradition to continue. It is not expected higher level characters give up too much time to help out the lower level characters, however, help is always appreciated and reciprocated.

WARNING
When communicating with players outside of the guild (in game or forums) you are expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner that reflects well on the Guild. If you can’t be polite and professional, please don’t say anything at all. Headhunters have built up a good reputation on the server, and we would hate to see it jeopardised.

[Raiding]

Arrive before the start time at the location given by the Council. This can be found on the in-game calendar or in the Guild message of the day. All times quoted are in game.

If you cant attend a scheduled raid, use the in-game calendar or make a post in the AFK thread as appropriate.

Be ready 30 minutes before the scheduled Raid Start. Invites will go out 20 minutes before scheduled raid start. Do not expect your spot to be reserved if you arrive late. Invites are done using the blizzard calendar. If you dont sign up, dont expect an invite.

Repair armour before leaving for raid.

Have any special Armor/Potions necessary for the raid ready and with you.

Listen to Raidleader instructions with particular attention to attacking and positioning.

Keep banter to a minimum during raidtime. A bit is ok, but if your spamming guild/raidchat then you will be asked to stop.

Be proactive with buffs, debuffs, curses, decurses etc. Make sure you join your dedicated class channel and set up buff groups etc from there.

Do NOT issue orders in raid channel UNLESS you are a raid leader.

Do NOT AFK, if it's going to be more than 30s, let your class leader or the raid leader know. They will tell you whether it is more appropriate for you to zone out, hearth, or follow. Persistant AFKing during raids will lead to you being replaced.

Tip
Suggestions on strategies during raidtime are ok if they go through the correct channels. Class channel discussions and whispers to raidleaders are ok. Do not confuse people by discussing strategies in raid chat. Bear in mind that raid leaders get suggestions from all classes during a new encounter, so if we dont follow your plan it may be for a good reason.

[Raid Signups]

We use the in-game calendar to sign up for scheduled raids.

If you're unsure how to use the calendar there is a writeup of it here:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Calendar

Information

If you cant see the signup events, contact any council member and we will add you to the invite list.

A DKP bonus is given to those that sign up and are online at 19:40 gametime.

Raid invites are done using the calendar interface. If you dont sign up and are missed for invites: that's why.

You can also sign up from your armory page if you cannot log into the game or contact a council member and they will sign up for you.

[Performance monitoring]

If a situation arises where it can clearly be seen that a raider is underperforming in raids, we have a policy to ensure that improvement can be made or the last resort would be to remove that person from the raid force. This works as follows:

You shall be warned that your performance has been of a low standard.
This is a friendly warning and there will be no serious implications unless performance does not improve.

If performance remains poor, you will be given one week to improve.
This will be assessed as if you were an initiate to the guild. During this time we will scrutinise every aspect of your play within raids, it will not just be an arbitrary decision based on dmg/healing meters, but it will take into account every variable we come across.

At this point, we as leaders will consider that we have done everything within our power to push you towards better performance. If significant improvement has not been witnessed.

You will be demoted to member or removed from the guild, depending on length of service within Headhunters (this is entirely at the discretion of the Council)

NOTE
Throughout this entire process you will be supported by the Council. We do not expect people to improve their play style without help and guidance. Our Council are people that excel at playing their class, taking their advice is very important to avoid being demoted or removed.

_______________________________________________________________________

[Internet & PCs]

Another factor that has thwarted our progress in the past has been bad internet connections and antiquated computers that are unable to play the game at a satisfactory standard.

People who repeatedly have connection issues or PC performance issues will now be warned that their raid spot may be in jeopardy if they do not make some effort towards solving the issue.
If we do not see some improvement within six weeks of being warned we will demote the person in question.

NOTE
If anyone does get demoted, they are welcome to reapply once they get their connection/PC sorted. Obviously there may be extenuating circumstances which could prevent someone from improving their internet/PC and this will be taken into consideration when deciding whether a person should be demoted.

_______________________________________________________________________

[Attendance]

WARNING
All Raiders should use the signup system or write a post on the forums if they aren’t going to be able to make a raid, preferably in a timely fashion.

We expect all raiders to maintain 70% or greater attendance. If you cant maintain this attendance we may be forced to replace you.

[DKP System]

Headhunters currently use a Dragon Kill Point (DKP) system using Morgbid2.

This system has the following rules:

• 1 DKP Pools
• No negative DKP. You can only bid a maximum of your current DKP.
• Minimum bid: 10 DKP.
• Minimum 10 DKP increase on bids
• Lootcalling on some items at the discretion of the Council

WARNING
There is loot priority in place: Raider Mainspec > dualspec/RRA/Offspec/Initiates. If you arent bidding for your mainspec or arent raider rank, dont bid until told an item is open to you. The Master looter will announce when you can bid.

DKP awarded:

• 10 every 2 hours
• 10 DKP Bonus for being ontime (15 mins before raidstart & signed up on the in-game Calendar)
• 5 DKP for a first kill (hardest mode only)
• People sitting out on raid standby will get full DKP (If avaliable to raid)

WARNING
Initiates will earn DKP for raiding, but will not be able to spend it on items until they pass their trial. Exceptions to this are made when no raiders show an interest in a piece of loot, it will then be open to initiates. The master looter will announce when loot is open for initiates.

Tip
The most important factor in any looting choices you may make within Headhunters is to use common sense and be flexible.

__________________________________________________________________________

[Armor Proficiencies]

The rules for bidding on items below your own armor proficiency are as follows:

WARNING
Raiders are not allowed to bid on an item below their intended armor proficiency until all of the classes for whom the items armor proficiency is intended either have the item or pass on it.

For example: A best in slot leather item is not open to mail and plate wearers until all of the rogues and druids either have the item or pass on it.

Tip
It will be announced when an item is available for other armor proficiencies to bid on by the master looter. If you are unsure then ask, don't just bid.

_______________________________________________________________________

[Vanity Items]

The way vanity items such as the mount from Sarth 3D will be handled is as follows:

A small number of the items will be lootcalled to people that have put in extra effort and the council feel deserve a reward for it, if deemed appropriate. After a small number (if any) have been lootcalled the vanity item will be rolled on by all raiders who want it.

This 'extra effort' can be in any area of the guild and is not limited to the boss that drops the vanity item. It is intended to reward people for doing more than is expected of their rank and as a thankyou when somebody earns one.

NOTE
Super rare vanity items (like the Ashes of Al'ar) will be lootcalled by the council.

_______________________________________________________________________

[Required addons]

The following addons are required for raiding with headhunters. You are expected to be up to date with how to use them.

Omen3 - Omen is a Threatmeter. Have this or equivalent installed (Skada)

Do not have the announce functions of these mods turned on, unless requested by the raid leader.

Tip
Most of these addons are availabe at www.curse.com

[Guild bank]

Headhunters have an extensive collection of resources available to all those who are raider rank and above.

The guild bank will provide:
- Blue quality gems
- Abyss Crystals
- Access to Flasks, Food, Potions and Elixirs for Progression fights
- Ad hoc assistance to any materials we hold, subject to Council agreement.

Our guild bank system has 6 tabs:
General
Enchant and Gems
Herbs
Pots and Elixirs
Misc Consumables
Misc

All ranks of the guild have access to deposit items in all tabs besides the Misc tab.

NOTE

The flasks, potions, food and misc tabs are open for progression fights, people are expected to be responsible with withdrawing items. Those abusing the system or not contributing in anyway will be sanctioned appropriately.

Please bear in mind that this is while stocks of relevant resources last. We also want all members of Headhunters to contribute in some way to the economic success of the guild with your individual crafted/gathering professions.

WARNING
The guild bank will sometimes pay for repair costs on progress nights. For administrative reasons, however, the option may be turned on permanently. Raiders are expected to withdraw repair money on progress raids only, and adjust their mods accordingly.
